Light: Needs full sun to bright, indirect light. The more sun, the more color (in firestick types). Water: Water only when the soil is completely dry. Very drought-tolerant. Overwatering is a common killer. Soil: Use gritty, fast-draining soil – cactus/succulent mix is ideal. Humidity: Prefers low humidity. Do not mist. Temperature: Thrives in 20–32°C (68–90°F). Must be protected from frost. Fertilizer: Feed once a month in spring and summer with diluted cactus fertilizer. Toxicity: Highly toxic – the milky sap can irritate skin and eyes. Wear gloves when handling.
